Are gays just different at dance clubs from other people or what could it be?
23 year old light-skinned gay African American male. Ok! So at college and the mall and pretty much everywhere, I’m used to having men check me out and send me subtle advances. I mean, I have no problem getting guys to hit on me and stare me down when I’m at the LGBT center; college; school; mall; etc. White girls at college were literally sat all around me yesterday at college. A white boy keeps sitting where I sit in the college library. Anyways, nobody checks me out or ever hits on me when I go to this gay dance club where the lights are dimmed. I don’t go there with anyone to show everyone that I’m single and stand off on my own kind of waiting for some guy to hit on me or at least check me out but no one does. All the young white gays are surrounded by a bunch of other guys and its only the older men whom I’m not attracted to who sit around harassing me all night and won’t leave me alone. The young guys won’t look at me for more than two seconds. I’ve gotten a little more success when I went downstairs in the bar section where the lights are on. What should I do about this? It’s the place hwere most gays my age hang out in my area and the fun part about it is the dimmed lights and dance floor but I’m assuming black doesn’t go well in the dark. Another theory is that its str8 men I’m turning on outside of gay bars because my build is 5′9; 140 and guys who are with women and claim there str8 I see checking me out out of the corners of their eyes and such outside of gay bars and such. What’s going on here. Could it be that openly gay men just already have better choices or something!

Well when you’re at the club, it’s a whole other playing field than at like school. School you can just randomly talk about stuff, like coffee or a class but at the club, it’s more in your face and a lot of people are shy so nobody really has the balls to get into another person’s face.

It’s like ok I’m at the club, when I want to get to know a girl, I don’t say "Hi there! How are you? What do you do for fun?" I go up to her, I take her hand and ask if she wants to dance, so it’s more physical and less words, it’s more working of the body than the brain and it’s also more ballsy. Like I can’t just grab a girl in a classroom and start grinding on her, but I can at the club.

Sore throat, painkillers not working, any ideas?
Last week I had a low grade fever and was generally lethargic. I was taking advil then to lower the fever, drinking ice water to help lower, tea with honey when I was home, and slept as much as I could. Lasted maybe 5 days of having the fever and 2 days after the fever broke I finally felt better.

Well now a full week later, I notice the other day that my throat was sort of feeling sore. Not too bad, I took a couple advil and it would be fine until it wore off. I would take one more (since I had been taking it a lot the last couple weeks and didn’t want to encourage any sort of immunity to its effects) when it started coming back and went to bed. I slept late today and woke up with the same sore throat - not terrible, but enough to have me head right for the Advil bottle when I woke up.

Well as the night progressed the pain became worse and Advil stopped doing the trick. I made sure to take one before I went to sleep but woke up 5 hours later from the pain in my throat. Earlier that day I went out and bought a throat spray, but that is only temporary relief. The spray will numb the back of my throat for a few minute and then wear off. I’ve taken more advil in the last hour than I’ve ever had to (even for a headache) and while it’s somewhat dulled the pain, it’s still there whenever I swallow (been drinking bottles of water since I woke up). I already went and gargled with salt water - second thing I did after I took the advil and it offered no relief. I haven’t tried tea and honey yet, only because its painful swallowing just regular water.

As for my throat, took a look at it with a flashlight. It is definitely red and irritated in the back of the throat and spreading to the right side of my tonsil. My right tonsil is definitely swollen and where most of the pain is originating from. There was a white substance on both tonsils, which I went at with a q-tip since I wasn’t sure if it was tonsillolith’s or something else. I deduced they are not tonsillolith’s so whatever it is, it is there. I don’t share drinks with anyone, I have a fiance, but we haven’t been kissing much since I’ve been a sicky sick so I don’t think its mono.

I’m thinking its strep throat, caused by tonsillitus because it should just be the whole shebang. I need antibiotics for it, no health insurance, but I’ll figure out something.

BUT that’s not the point, anyone have good remedies to reduce the pain besides throat spray, gargling salt water, or advil? I passed up the lozenges at the market the other day (picked up more advil since I was using so much lately) for the throat spray, perhaps the wrong choice.

I’m thinking ice cream too when it stops being 5 in the morning….
Note: I’m not suffering any other symptoms. No lethargy, fever, cough, runny nose, etc which normally comes with my strep throat. So it’s pretty weird feeling perfectly okay except for this nasty pain.

I was a sickly child with a lot of strep throat growing up…

I wouldn’t expect you to be over him yet. It’s only been two months and you dated for 3 years. You may need about 3 or 4 more months before you’re over him.

the best way to get over him is to first acknowledge your pain and disappointment. allow yourself 2 to 3 days of wallowing in self pity. just bawl your eyes out until you have no more tears to give. Give yourself permission to grieve this loss. After that, distract yourself when you realize you’re obsessing about him. Go for a walk, get a hobby, go out and meet people. enjoy your life.

fwiw: he had a family who didn’t support your relationship w/ him and he agreed w/ his family. If you had married him, you would have wound up divorced because his family would have made your life hell and he wouldn’t have backed you up. And who knows how long you would have stayed w/ him before you left because you were so busy fighting his family for him. This way, you’re free of him.

Life is so much easier and more enjoyable when your inlaws are civil to you or OMG actually like you. Don’t just look for a guy who cranks your chain. Look for one who supports you and who has a family who at least is polite to you.

First of all I would not advise you to start a Backyad Wrestling Company for safety reasons but if you want to then get about 10-15 wrestlers train them to do safe moves for about 2 years then start the company so Name, And money types of things. Make the ring 16×16 steps legnths and width. Then you need to see if the wrestlers feel compfutrbul to wrestler and lose to people. Then get started by typing up a page per person for their gimmicks and then about 2 or 3 pages for each rivary. then practis your show 5-7 times a week before the show starts so like-

Monday-1 practist
Tuesday-2 practist
Wednesday 2-practist
Thursaday-1 practist
Friday- Show
Saturday- Make you next show
Sunday- Rest

So its a all around year program.

Sound kinda cool, i tried once and failed miserably mostly because i had very little wrestlers! As for the story lines, i would say to use stuff from you normal life and exaggerate it in a big way! Example some one pushes you in the hallway in school and you want to kill him but its school so you can’t, now take that and use it as a story line so you take out your anger with out getting in trouble! As for the ring it self the ones the WWE uses are 18 feet by 18 feet and cost about $5000 so i would build you own with some plywood and tires for support (it really doesn’t hurt to get slammed on it) and some metal stuff or wood for the turnbuckles. The ropes are just stretched wire with tape so that is pretty easy. The titantron for you should just be a tv or maybe a projector a computer and a bare white wall so you kinda get a big picture! The pyro is the super dangerous part and you should only use it if you know what you are doing! I had it but my wood shop teacher taught me how to use it properly so don’t use it unless someone tache you how to do it safely! Most of all bes of luck to you and i hope it all works out!

pregnant should i tell the father… opinions?
I have just found out im pregnant. 15 weeks to be close to exact. I wasnt planning this pregnancy and have been told pretty much since i started going to the "lady" doctor that i wouldnt be able to have children naturally if at all. so this all came as a big shock and part of the reason why im already 3 months and didnt find out until now (but i am so happy and so excited about this child now). the question i would like to ask is I dont know if I should tell the father. I dated him and loved him very very much for the past 2 1/2 years. He was in the military and in Iraq about a year and a half ago and was injured. Drove over and IED. He recieced some injuries and was in the hospital for 13 days but He came back not even close to the same person he was when he left, his being is 2nd deployment. Physically he is the same mentially he isnt. I spent the last 1 1/2 trying to find that person i loved so much trying to get back something that was him, but he isnt there anymore. I feel like the man i fell inlove with died over there and this person i know know looks an awful lot like him but thats all they share in common. After a year and a half and supporting him and trying to get him back waiting and seeing if he would heal and come back to me, i couldnt take it anymore and ended the relationship about 3 months ago. Im still inlove with the man i fell inlove with 2 1/2 years ago who was my everything and was so so good to me. he was my soul mate and everything i could have ever wanted in a person. The issue now is im pregnant and i really dont believe i should tell him. I belive he needs to find peace and i dont think that he will be able to do that with a child and i dont belive he as he is now would be a healthy influence. I love this baby more then anything and part of me is happy that its part of him. When i look at my child years from now ill be able to remember the love of my life and see bits of him in my babys face. Im just wondering if other people would see me not telling him as wrong. I dont care what i go threw really but i want a happy and loving and healthy environment for my child, thats the most important thing…. and i believe i can provide it alone.

These pregnancy tests are driving me crazy! Help?
I took two pregnancy tests in the past week that I thought might be positive. One had a faint, thin blue line on it but it was after the 10 minute "window" so I’m pretty sure I have to discount it. I did a second one a day later and got what I think is a faint positive line, but it’s really so faint that you have to squint and hold it in the right light to see it. Then the next morning I took a THIRD test and it’s clearly NEGATIVE. So slight or faint lines there at all.

Is it possible to have a positive test followed by a negative? I feel pregnant but I have been wrong before. My body is really telling me this time though….I have an irregular period so I don’t know when the first missed day would be. Based on the day of conception, I would be 31 days pregnant right now if I were at all.

Any insight?
The thing that confuses me most is that the two faint tests were done in the afternoon…and the negative test was in the morning with more concentrated pee. Wouldn’t that point to defective tests (the ones that had the faint lines)?

So, they can be increasingly less positive if either a) it’s a chemical pregnancy and you’re going to have your period soon or b) you’re testing later in the day and each time your urine is getting more dilute as you drink more liquids during the day.

In other words, you’re pregnant but whether you stay pregnant could be up to testing error (not using your morning’s urine) or a very early miscarriage.

I’m sorry to say this but you might not be. After those 10 minutes the test doesn’t show any correct results, and if you had to hold the test in the "right light" to see the result, then it was probably just a reflection-the test has a thicker line-thing there where the second line should appear so you probably saw that ( I did that and then I figured out what’s wrong- it was negative). If you really think you are pregnant you should take another test(a quality one)-first thing in the morning tomorrow, with the first pee-and see that result. Or even better: make a blood pregnancy test, that will tell you for sure.

oh and a faint line does mean it’s positive, it’s just that you have to see it. and there are more chances for a test to be false negative then false positive.

Give up the tests with the lines, dont keep wasting your money, I drove myself crazy trying to read those. Get a digital read-out test that will actually read the words "pregnant" or "not pregnant"…it takes the guesswork out of things…

The same thing happened to me. A very very faint blue line one day and a very clear negative the next. It turned out that I had been pregnant but had lost it very early on. I would advise you to do to your doctor and get checked out. They will be able to do another pregnancy test, an internal exam to see if your womb is enlarged and also if there is still any doubt they will send u for an early ultrasound to determine what is happening. I went for my first appointment the other day with the nurse, and while asking me about my pregnancy history I told her I had what I thought was a chemical pregnancy where I tested faint positives and then clear negatives. She explained to me that sometimes your body can produce a slight amount of the pregnancy hormone. That it could have been my body tricking me into thinking I was pregnant because I believed it with all my heart, or that it could have been a chemical pregnancy, which is a very early miscarriage.
It is also possible to take a false negative test at home, if i were you I would get in touch with your doctor and request a blood test. You can’t go wrong with a blood test.

Is Google the most unethical company out there?
In 2006, Google agreed to censor itself to get a piece of the Chinese market. Sold it’s soul to the devil in other terms. Through the years, Google got mad because the Chinese intermittently would block Facebook, Twitter and YouTube (all owned by Google), and one day last year they shut them all off and never let them back online. Google wasn’t making any money. A few weeks ago Google announced it would stop censoring itself and if China didn’t like it, they’d pull out. Their deadline was last Tuesday. They’re still in China, and they’re still censored. It was clearly a power play with Beijing to get their biggest money-makers like Facebook and YouTube back online making money / free advertising.

Many companies are unethical, but isn’t Google particularly unethical for using this issue to further it’s profits?

Google is all about the money, ethics take a back seat. They do have a slide and ball pool in some offices though. I think this makes up for it.

Companies are in business to make money not to further human rights. Compared to the many companies who have promoted slave labor and corruption in other countries Google’s lack of action is very mild. Despite what the supreme court says corporations are not persons and they do not have a moral code so expecting ethical behavior is unrealistic.

I could name a hundred companies that are more unethical than google. A few examples include include Haliburton, Blackwater, and all the wall street banks.

Others that were considered very reputable until they were caught was Enron and Worldcom.
