In the movie hellboy 2 the golden army it is said that trolls fear canary birds my question is why, did they just toss that in out of the air or is is based on a fairytale or fable, I never heard that trolls were afraid of canaries?

I’m not sure either but maybe it’s because trolls are considered such ugly creatures that really that could bother them are some of the most beautiful creatures.

Canaries sing and make like happy noises, maybe it just hurts the trolls in some weird way. I mean, they supposedly eat cats so why not right?

This is just gibberish. They combined some real words from different languages..
"Ah say" is English. Or it could be "I say".
"ento" could be "into" or ancient Greek "en to" that means.. "into"!
"pi alpha" are the Greek letters ?? and ?? that are called ?? and ???? (Pi and Alpha).
"mabi upendi" is not Greek. It looks more Latin, but I doubt. When I listened to the song I thought it sounded like "maybe up and down".
"In comma" is English. right? But ‘comma’ is a Greek world. It has the same meaning.
"coriyama" is definitely neither Greek nor Latin. It sounds Japanese.

My conclusion: this is a spell form a movie that intends on entairtaining people. This phrase wasn’t supposed to mean anything; it sounds ancient, exotic, strange and it is fun. That’s it.
