Last Samurai, The
Last Samurai, The (2003)

IMDB rating: 7.80

Plot: In the 1870s, Captain Nathan Algren, a cynical veteran of the American Civil war who will work for anyone, is hired by Americans who want lucrative contracts with the Emperor of Japan to train the peasant conscripts for the first standing imperial army in modern warfare using firearms. The imperial Omura cabinet’s first priority is to repress a rebellion of traditionalist Samurai -hereditary warriors- who remain devoted to the sacred dynasty but reject the Westernizing policy and even refuse firearms. Yet when his ill-prepared superior force sets out too soon, their panic allows the sword-wielding samurai to crush them. Badly wounded Algren’s courageous stand makes the samurai leader Katsumoto spare his life; once nursed to health he learns to know and respect the old Japanese way, and participates as advisor in Katsumoto’s failed attempt to save the Bushido tradition, but Omura gets repressive laws enacted- he must now choose to honor his loyalty to one of the embittered sides when the conflict returns to the battlefield…

Which of these films are better for blue-ray?
Hi I’ve got a PS3 and I was wondering what a Blue-ray looked like on it. So I wanted to buy one film but the’s so much choice I need some help. I think that the films that I like and what will use Blue-ray to its full potential are big epic war films like Troy and Gladiator(though not so big) but I have already watched these two and I want to make sure that I get the most out of my money by buying a film I haven’t watched( please correct me if you think my opinion of big war films being the best Blue-ray films you can get is wrong). I have found a couple of films that I think are in this sort of area but I would like your opinion on which one is the best one to buy by judging it on visual, audio and story(and anything else that is of importance) these films are:
300
Last Samurai
Kingdom of Heaven
Alexander
Are the any other films that trump these and if so what are they?
Thank you
