His room-mate, Neil, although exceedingly bright and popular, is very much under the thumb of his overbearing father. In Dead Poets Society, who was Neil's best friend?
I missed a day when my English teacher was showing it in class so I might (or might not) have missed some important scenes regarding this.
If he didn’t have one particular best friend, who seemed the closest? Specific scenes they were in together would be great, as are quotes.
I believe it’s Todd, but I want to be sure. Thanks.
Todd was his roommate and knew more about his ambitions to be an actor and to take part in the play. And Neil made a concerted effort to bring Todd more into the loop. So, yeah, I’d say Todd.

Ethan Hawke (or Todd). His roommate but also his confidant. Todd learns of Neil’s passion for acting & how it’ll go against his father’s wishes.
It really only shows them 2 together of all the boys conversing.
Also, Todd blames his (Neil’s) father for Neil’s death.
I can’t give precise quotes- it’s been years since I’ve seen that wonderful film.

I think he had a couple. His room mate and the guy that’s always smoking.
