On September 29, 2009 it will be me and fiance’s second year dating anniversary and we LOVE to travel together. We both work 30 hours a week, go to law school and have a new puppy so our time alone and together is limited. Therefore I want to plan a mini vacation for us. I want to leave on the 24h which is a Thursday and come home on Sunday the 27th. That way we won’t miss too much work or school. We really love the beach. We have been to Cancun twice and Fort Lauderdale once and are looking at Hawaii or Cabo for our honeymoon in September 2010. I don’t want to tell him anything or ask him anything. I want to book it all and even pack his suitcase. He is thrilled with the idea. But I need some suggestions. We will be flying out of Kansas City, Missouri. Beach location suggestions that would not waste two of our days flying. I was thinking somewhere in California or maybe even somewhere in Florida again or South Carolina. Anywhere that you can suggest that the beach water will be warm in September and that we will have fun things to do and great places to eat and drink. Also no where that it will be hurricane season: example Cancun. Thanks in advance for all your help!!!!!! SO excited!

Addison, look into Colonial Beach, Virginia. There are four B&B’s to choose from for a nice romantic getaway. The beach is the second-longest one in Virginia and in September the water should still be plenty warm. Plus, there are many pet-friendly accomodations so you can bring the puppy.
There are a lot of great restaurants and bars here, so you shouldn’t have any problem finding a fun place to hang out and enjoy a nice vacation.
