Can I be deployed even though I have college first in my National Gaurd contract?
I’m an 11-Bravo in the National Gaurd and have college first in my contract. I finished training in July and started my first semester in late August. The thing is, I’ve been told by my unit that I could still be deployed. Infact, when I first brought it up I got laughed at. Some said I could be, some said I can’t. I feel shitty watching my unit go, but I joined this way to gain military experience while I go to school, then deploy. Seemed smarter than just doing college and then joining, why not get some experience under my belt.
I signed up for many reasons, but a big one was that if our country is at war I should do my part. But without college first I would have waited until I finished at least two years of school.
-I think maybe they got confused because recruitment stopped offering college first in contracts? ( I know I enlisted pretty close to deadline of when they stopped offering it)
-Also, could I be deployed in the summer because I’m not technically a full time student then? ( Even though I am through the year)
-Also, one of my classes started like a week later then the rest of my classes but is a fast paced intensive course(worth 6 credits). Since the class started a week later, my montgomery GI bill only gives me a monthly stipend of 1/2 the rate of full time. Would this effect college first?
-My contract states that I will receive 24 months of non-deployability from Iraq or Afghanistan ( I have to be enrolled into a college within 90 days of AIT completion- which I was)
- In my contract it states that I can be deployed to a new conflict outside of Iraq or Afghanistan, but thats not happening anyways.
At first I thought my Unit was possibly just messing with me, but nope it is up in the air.
You CAN get deployed. It doesn’t matter if you’re in school. What they didn’t tell you is that the contract binds you to the government, not the government to you…so if they need you, you’ll HAVE to deploy, or prison time.
Mikey | Feb 09, 2010
I’m not as familar as id like to be on this subject to give you an answer. If it says specifically on your contract that you can’t deploy to Afghanistan or Iraq, then they can’t make you. Most people will tell you that you got duped and will deploy. A contracts a contract. Stick by your guns and take your argument as high up as it needs to go.
Ryan | Feb 09, 2010
ABSOLUTELY.If your unit goes, you go.You deploy as a unit, and come back as a unit.Imagine if half the unit had college first contracts, how would they deploy half of a unit.Needs of the Army come first.
SapperDan | Feb 09, 2010
First priority is mission to defend your country, including combat..this will just delay your college in your contract…I hate when I hear that you can join and go to college , some recruiters forget to tell ppl that war is priority….and trumps everything else..
I know this from experience, 20 years in the military…

How could children live without the idea of jannah?
It is only with the thought of Paradise that children, who form almost a half of mankind, can endure all the deaths around them, which appear to them to be grievous and frightening, and strengthen the morale of their weak and delicate beings. Through Paradise they find hope in their vulnerable spirits, prone to weeping, and may live happily. For example, with the thought of Paradise, one may say:

 Guardian, The (2006)
IMDB rating: 6.70
Plot: The US Coast Guard version of “Top Gun” with a little “An Officer and A Gentleman” thrown in: an aging USCG rescue swimmer’s team is killed in a horrific rescue mission. Immediately prior to this terrible event, his wife also announced that she cannot take anymore. His first love is always the rescue mission. This leaves him an obviously emotional wreck. His commender gives him a choice - quit or take a position as an instructor at the USCG training facility in Louisiana. Reluctantly he takes the position. Moving into the school, he immediately increases the 18 week curriculum that routinely fails half of the people that attend. Here he meets a young man with unlimited potential, but with some secret that seems to hold him back as a team player. Delving into his past, links are found that make him a psychic twin to the older man. Thrown into the midst of the story is a romance with a local girl. Rescue missions punctuate the beginning and end of the story with the training sessions the center of the film.

Will having a knife for protection look bad?
I decided to file for divorce from my controlling spouse. She did not want the divorce and has since gone on a tirade of verbal and sometimes physical abuse, all in front of my two small children. She has caused bruises on my body and I never fight back, because I do not think my children should witness this. I have photos of bruises and audio recordings of her tirades. I am sleeping in the basement and took a knife with me when I sleep because I was afraid that she may try to kill me. She recently found the knife and called the police, who said that if I did not threaten her with it that nothing illegal has happened. The knife was hidden under the sofa where I was sleeping. I have never abused her or even raised my voice to her in my life, which my children can verify. I was genuinely scared for my life. Soon a guardian will be appointed and make temporary orders and get one of us out of the house.
Will this incident look bad during my divorce case?
Any comments are appreciated.
since you have footage of her tirades no (good job by the way) get as much footage as you can, the more the better. video/audio proof is hard to argue with, and the pictures of the bruises, GENIUS!! i wouldn’t be surprised if you got full custody

Stop being a crybaby little coward and grow a pair you little homo. "Oh, look at me, I’m afraid of a woman and wont fight back, I better go on the internet and ask strangers in cyber space how to solve my problems." Please. You little fag, get off the internet.
Marsha | Feb 07, 2010
No. You should not penalized for this. I also had a knife under my bed while I was divorcing my husband. He found the knife and took it to his attorney. His mistake was that he did not file a police report, hence whatever he gave to his attorney was subject. First of all, I am so sorry about the physical abuse but I am wondering why you are not calling the cops out if she is leaving bruises on your body? You have to document everything very closely , meaning, the more police reports you have documenting her abuse, the clearer picture the courts will have regarding her out of control behavior. I would move out immediately. Staying in a situation that you consider so threatening to your life will make the courts wonder if you are truly that scared. Keep all the phone messages. They are concrete evidence in court to her abusive behavior. Hopefully any physical injury she has directed to you has been documented with more than photos. Photos, per se, are not strong evidence for past abuse. You need to involve the police per each incident, with a police report per incident, and perhaps even with her being arrested. You are not allowed to beat up on people, even if you are married. Good luck!!!!

I’m really excited for the new movie Shutter Island by Martin Scorsese. Is the book good so I can read it before.
my friend is reading it. she says it good…but kinda werid and hard to follow. i’d give it shot. why not? if its a good read, than good! lol. if not, well thank goodness for other books!
Daughter of Athena | Feb 03, 2010
It’s a good book.
Note that you need to struggle a bit for the early part which is a bit slow.Think of it as a rollercoaster, the ascend is to be slow but once it starts to dash down, wow, it’s such a thrill. The ending is shocking in a very smart way.
Don’t see the movie first. Read the book.

Christians did you know that Jesus Christ fulfilled hundreds of Messianic Prophecies without a shadow of doubt?
Jesus is God(John 1:1-3,14). Isaiah 7:14 prophesied the Virgin Birth of Christ our Savior. Indeed he is the Messiah. He will return with power in glory at the end of time as he has promised(Acts 1:9-11).
This is a fact, not fiction. Beware of false teachers that tell you otherwise. Beware of those who deny the deity of Christ. Jesus died on the Cross for the Sins of the World(John 3:16). Jesus is God(John 1:1-3). He was one with God the Father in the Creation of the World (Genesis 1:1).
Special note to all Jews, Atheists and Agnostics:
According to the 19th century Scholar Henry Liddon, Jesus fulfilled to the letter no fewer than 332 Old Testament Prophecies. 29 Messianic Prophecies were fulfilled in the final 24 hours of his life alone.

alma was mistranslated to virgin. It actually means young woman. Even I knew that and I’m not a biblical scholar.
daniil the cavejew | Aug 29, 2009
Phony prophecies, phony fulfillments.
Haven’t we covered all this before?
Matthew, for example, said that because Jesus was from the town of Nazareth he fulfilled a prophecy "he shall be called a Nazarene." Which is not the same as being a Nazirite, which is what your OT references refer to. A Nazirite was someone who was consecrated, not someone who lived in a town named Nazareth. In any case, none of the OT references you gave about that prophecy were prophecies about Jesus. Read them in their contexts. The one in Judges, for example, was about someone who was living long before Jesus.
Also Isaiah 7:14 had nothing to do with foretelling a virgin birth of Jesus. The original Hebrew word in the Isaiah passage does not mean "virgin," it means "young woman," and the prophecy was about something that would take place in the near future, not several hundred years later. Read Isaiah 7:14-17. Matthew used that prophecy because he was using the Greek Septuagint, in which the word for young woman is more vague than the original Hebrew and he could find no other passage that he could use as a prophecy to "prove" the virgin birth of Jesus, which was just a myth that arose about Jesus sometime after his death and deification anyway.
Most of the so-called prophecies were vague, others were fulfilled by fabrications, others were just misunderstood. The NT authors wrote the story of Jesus to make it appear that he fulfilled prophecy. Also modern apologists have tried to find any obscure and vague OT passage they could use to make it appear that Jesus fulfilled prophecy.

yes
but you should see my answers on the similar question i asked.
and youd be surprised at the alleged prophecies he did not fulfill LIKE World peace!
and yet the bible says jesus gave people peace from heaven and it was not given to the swine of the earth. there are 3 types of peace that i know of. pharmecutical, by force, and from above.

Where in America can i find Dario Argento films?
I have seen Suspiria and would like to see more of his films. Specifically: Deep Red, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage and Opera.
I would suspect Amazon.com would have what you’re looking for, or else just google the name of the film and it should be simple enough from there.
Might I also recommend you try and find Inferno and The Mother Of Tears, they are part 2 and 3 of a trilogy which started with Suspiria, about a coven of 3 witches that settled in 3 different cities
