King Kong (1976)

Plot: The owner of the oil company Petrox Corporation, Fred Wilson, invests all his possessions searching oil in an unexplored island. The vessel leaves Surubaya, in Indonesia, with the stowaway Jack Prescott, who wants to protect an ape called Kong. While traveling, they find the castaway Dwan in the middle of nowhere in a rescue boat in the ocean and bring her on board. The group finds that the island is inhabited and the local natives worship a huge gorilla called Kong. They abduct Dwan to offer her in a sacrifice to Kong. The crew hikes into the jungle trying to rescue Dwan. King Kong falls in love with Dwan and protects her against a huge serpent. When Fred finds that the oil in the island is not ready for exploitation, he decides to capture Kong and bring him to New York for exhibition. In the middle of a show, King Kong escapes, bringing panic to the locals.

why is my cat suddenly mean?
my cat is an indoor/outdoor cat and is usually very nice and calm. the other day, however, my dad was petting him (and he was very calm) when all of the sudden, the cat attacked him. he threw him off the chair and threw the newspaper at him. i thought it was just a random occurence, but then today he walked into my room and arched his back, and hissed at me. He was moaning and groaning and looked like he was about kill me (like in suspiria haha). i didnt do anything. he walked into MY room.
im kinda afraid of him now!

Animals become vicious as a natural response to pain. It is like when you are ill and grumpy so end up yelling at people and losing your temper. Cats can’t shout so this is his way of telling you he is not well and is not in the mood.

Take him to the vets as soon as you can.

(And your dad throwing a newspaper at him probably didn’t help, especially if he is hurt.)

Three acoustic guitar technique questions?
Ok so, im learning teardrop by newton faulkner and I realised that this would be the perfect opportunity for the good ppl at yahoo! answers to help me out

1. Ive learnt all the parts to the song ( beat, hammer on-pull off part and intro picking) but i cant combine them all like newton so my first question is how can i build right and left hand Independence?

2. How can I improve my finger-picking? I mean just in general , im completely self taught and it be tricky getting things up to speed or being completely accurate, so any tips, tricks , or exercises would be greatly appreciated

3. And finally the most important question of all, how do i grow dreadlocks ?!?!?, nah im just kidding
But seriously , i would really like to learn more of the newton faulkner/ thomas leeb/ John Butler playing style.
The idea of it all fascinates me and I love the whole idea of being able to make a one-man-band type of song from just an acoustic guitar.
Are there any technique books out there that can help me out or anything else ?

Can I be deployed even though I have college first in my National Gaurd contract?
I’m an 11-Bravo in the National Gaurd and have college first in my contract. I finished training in July and started my first semester in late August. The thing is, I’ve been told by my unit that I could still be deployed. Infact, when I first brought it up I got laughed at. Some said I could be, some said I can’t. I feel shitty watching my unit go, but I joined this way to gain military experience while I go to school, then deploy. Seemed smarter than just doing college and then joining, why not get some experience under my belt.

I signed up for many reasons, but a big one was that if our country is at war I should do my part. But without college first I would have waited until I finished at least two years of school.

-I think maybe they got confused because recruitment stopped offering college first in contracts? ( I know I enlisted pretty close to deadline of when they stopped offering it)

-Also, could I be deployed in the summer because I’m not technically a full time student then? ( Even though I am through the year)

-Also, one of my classes started like a week later then the rest of my classes but is a fast paced intensive course(worth 6 credits). Since the class started a week later, my montgomery GI bill only gives me a monthly stipend of 1/2 the rate of full time. Would this effect college first?

-My contract states that I will receive 24 months of non-deployability from Iraq or Afghanistan ( I have to be enrolled into a college within 90 days of AIT completion- which I was)

- In my contract it states that I can be deployed to a new conflict outside of Iraq or Afghanistan, but thats not happening anyways.

At first I thought my Unit was possibly just messing with me, but nope it is up in the air.

I know this from experience, 20 years in the military…

Everyone, do you think the USA spends too much on Military?
First, this is not a low-blow attempt. It is not anti-American b.s. Alternatively, if you don’t like foreigners asking questions about USA, then just ignore my question and move on.

If the USA has such a big deficit, why do they still spend so much on Military? More than the top 10 runner ups combined. I am sure a lot of those military assets are wasted.

For example; why does one need 10 aircraft carriers when 3 will do? Why does one need 10000 battle tanks, when only 100 are actually used?

Obviously my examples are conjured up, but you get my point.

Is spending 2 or 3 times more then the top 3 runner up nations enough?

I think the problem with military spending is overpaying for equipment. Vehicle manufacturers hear that the government is looking for a contract, so they jack their prices up 500%. The government needs to learn to shop around for the best deals so they can pay a fraction of the current costs for equipment of the same quality.

Edit: since you claim you are from Taiwan, you should be very happy the US spends what it does on the military. If not, your "country" would have been re-absorbed a long time ago by your cousins in mainland China…still threatening that I believe. In fact, if it wasn’t for the US, you wouldn’t even be able to freely express yourself the way you do here in this forum. You should be thankful to the US for your current standard of living. As someone already siad, if the US didn’t spend what it does, those other countries would have to spend more…yours included.
