2 questions in 1 Do you believe some ppl can die not knowin happiness? Im?
asking say if someone was rasied in an abusive home and the ending was they were killed. That means they never experience happiness or same goes with love, can some ppl die with a broken heart? whatever happen to life suppose to have balance

My mother died with a broken heart Trust I know even tho she showed loved for herself which was easy to see deep down inside her family did her so wrong and hated her(always wonder wh). The way she treated herself(like she was some queen) while the rest of the family lived like animals. if she have she would give, if she didn’t have she would try to get for others. Others saw her strength SHE HAD A BEAUTIFUL SMILE, Im not exaggerating perfect white teeth beutiful dimples, but the family still hated her she knew this. so deep down inside she probably was tired of life. Why did her family treated her like that if she was the sweetest to them? My family treat me like Im the most naive but TRUST ME when it comes to logic they are dead wrong, dead thoughts dead spirtiually.

As I was walking along a path.. with my first step.. I trod in soggy wet mud about ankle deep.. I thought it was disgusting..I looked for a different path. with my second step… I trod into a puddle of ice cold water..I looked for a different path.. with my next step.. I trod into a bee’s nest.. with my next step… etc..

Unless the steps keep getting worse, most people would settle for mud, once you know what your dealing with you can adjust to navigate it. Sure it may not be a sunshine path filled with nature and beauty.. but as some people find out, the choice of other paths can be a lot worse and a lot more unpredictable.. And if it’s completely unbearable.. most people would change, wouldn’t they?

Even though some of the steps were not nice, some were better than others.. meaning I was happier, so therefore, did know happiness.. I know this is probably not really what your talking about but I hope the metaphor helps..
Where is my mind | Feb 04, 2010

You are alive spiritually and that is the #1 strength, it has the power to see you through all the rest. You cann attract the friend and loving people to be around you from whom you can learn as an adult any ways of loving and being more happy that you missed out on as a child. You have learned from mum that inner strength is more important than looking good or having worldly success. I see your other answers and you are awake to the law of karma so you know in outline "why", you just don’t know who did what to whom in which past life century or where. Diamond in a dung heap, wasn’t she? Can you trust Life that this was sent her for her highest good and also that your love and gratitude to her now will build both your and her future happiness?

It's Only Life ("Playbill")–Which Sondheim show is "That" Sondheim Show?
So I’ve been listening to the song "Playbill" from It’s Only Life, and it mentions "that Sondheim show," and the theatre geek within me is curious to know which show is "that Sondheim show" IS. Any speculations? I’m banking on either Company or A Little Night Music.

And yes, this is a weird question. And I seriously need a life. Oh, well.

It has to be "Company!"

I looked up John Bucchino, the songwriter of Playbill, on the "All Music Guide" (see link, below) and found this:

"Specifically, he (Bucchino) is a direct descendent of Stephen Sondheim, and clearly aspires to continue Sondheim’s investigation of dark, personal themes. Although the songs in It’s Only Life may come from many different aborted musicals or other projects, it’s easy to think of them as having been written for a new version of Company, Sondheim’s 1970 musical about modern urban single people…"

Of course, you could also visit John Bucchino’s own website and use the "Contact" link there to ask him yourself! (See 2nd link, below)

Good luck…

Impact Pt I (2008)

IMDB rating: 5.70

Plot: While the entire world watches the largest meteor shower in 10,000 years, a rogue asteroid, hidden by the meteor field, smashes into the moon in a tremendous explosion of rock and debris. Fragments from the asteroid, and even from the moon itself, penetrate Earth’s atmosphere and make impact. Even though the initial damage is minimal, nerves are frayed throughout the planet. There is significant physical damage to the lunar surface, but experts quickly conclude there will be no lasting ramifications. Then strange anomalies begin to manifest themselves on Earth. It starts small - cell phone disruptions, unusual static charges and odd tidal behavior. The world’s leading scientists, including Alex Kittner, Maddie Rhodes and Roland Emerson, begin piecing together evidence that suggests the moon’s properties, and its orbit, may have been permanently altered. Their fears are realized when the anomalies increase to the point where the effect of “simulated” gravity is being manipulated by increased electromagnetic surges coming from the moon. People, cars and other objects are rendered momentarily weightless in random, isolated areas around the globe. Alex, Maddie, Roland and the rest of their team soon discover something far worse - the moon’s new orbit has put it on a collision course with Earth! The world now has 39 days to stop it or Earth, and all of mankind, will perish. After a failed attempt by the United States to destroy the moon, our heroes bring all the countries of the world together in one last hope for humanity - an international mission to the moon itself where astronauts will attempt to reverse the magnetic effects and restore the moon to its original orbit. Alex, whose children are now missing after the latest rampage of anti-gravity, is emotionally torn as he must now join Roland and two other astronauts on the Earth saving mission into space. It is a race against time as the two celestial bodies are drawn closer and closer to impact, the world united, watching and praying, the survival of mankind in the balance.

Who would you choose for the following roles?
These are for *serious* remakes of the classic Universal monsters. Not the silly "Mummy" crap with Brendan Frasier.

Frankenstein

Dracula

The Mummy

The Phantom Of The Opera

The Hunchback Of Notre Dame

–Doesn’t really matter once the suit is on, but: The Creature From The Black Lagoon

Frankenstein- on idea, but could be like Grawp and be computer animated because of his size
Dracula- Johnny Depp (like Gary Oldman in Bram Stoker’s Dracula)
The Mummy- won’t matter since he’s in toilet wrap anyway (never read it)
POTO- the guy who played Harvey Dent in Batman Dark Knight, or Christopher Sieber
Hunchback- I liked it animated…but maybe Jackson Rathbone?
Lagoon- Derek whoever who played Jason in the most recent Friday the 13th
(if you do make remakes, post them, I’d LOVE to see, since I’d like to see Dracula as a remake…in my head it looks awesome)

Plot: Based on factual accounts, this is the story of two young girls that, somehow, have the ability to take pictures of winged beings… which certainly causes quite a stir throughout England during the time of the first World War. Everyone, except the girls who think it’s quite normal, are excited about this “photographic proof” that fairies exist… even the great Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Harry Houdini pay the girls a visit.

Trouble with a Wedding Story?
Hey. My older sister (24yrs) is getting married and she has asked me to say a story about how she and her fiance came to be ‘a thing.’ I have the bride’s view point but am really stuck on what to say.

The story is really just… great friends develop crushes, then the feeling grows and then he finally plucks up the courage to ask her to be his girlfriend (he even asked Dad - how sweet) and then they dated and are getting married.

I would like there to be a theme. Preferably "Fairytales’ really do come true." So ‘Prince Charming/Knight in Shining Armour’ and ‘Princess’ and then finally ‘Happily Ever After.’

I don’t have a clue what to say. So what I’m asking is…
- How can I relate their relationship to a fairytale?
- Are there other themes that would also work? And if so, how could I relate it to the relationship

Other details…
- I’m 15
- It needs to be entertaining
- And sweet (no nasty humour etc)
- It would be fun to sort of make it a dramatic piece (like acting as the bride and groom or princess and prince/knight etc)

Okay…
Please and Thank-you!! : )

I can’t copy the text here, so I’ll just send you the links because the story is in jpeg formats.

drug survey……………?
1) do you think illegal drugs should stay illegal?
2) if you had to choose 3 drugs to legalize what would they be?
3) if you think they should stay illegal, do you think alcohol should be made illegalas well? (keep in mind that alcohol would be a class A drug if discovered today and a lot of illegal drugs are actually safer than alcohol)
4) do you see the point in anti-drug campaigns?
5) in my opinion if alcohol is legal they should legalize the use of other drugs, with the exception of things that can cause sudden death (gas, heroin etc) and sell it legal have it taxed etc so if people are guna do drugs anyway they can at least buy it safely without wondering what dodgy crap is in it. and then instead of wasting money on pointless anti-drug campaigns they could put the money to better use, like extra money for hospitals or whatever. do you agree with my opinion or disagree?

im not for or against drugs, but theres no way to completely stop drug use so i dont see the point wasting time and money and police resources trying to stop it
no, most drugs today DONT cause sudden death! yeh they can if you have an underlying medical condition but if you do alcohol is just as dangerous!
you hear about people dying the first time they take ecstasy but ecstasy didnt kill them, stupidity did when they decide to drink ridiculous amounts of water and drinking that amount of water at once can kill you whether youre on drugs or not!
and other times it seems like a drug caused sudden death- again, NOT the drugs! its the dodgy crap mixed in with it, which is why i think they should make it legal so they can regulate drugs and therefore make them, safer
flip me over- youre absolutely right! i dont know the number of wweed related deaths a year (cant imagine its more than one though lol) but i do know on average 2-3 people die from ecstasy each year but theres thousands (or possible even more than that) of alcohol related deaths
yeh i know banning alcohol wouldnt be easy but dont forget drugs werent always illegal! banning alcohol would result in people making it themselves and selling it illegally, so it would be stupid, but thats my point-trying to ban something which will never go away just makes things worse

1) yes
2) i dont do drugs, thus idc

1 yes
2 none
3 no because when you drink it like you are SUPPOSED to, it won’t be as harmful in the long run.
4 yes, they save lives
5 no they shouldn’t, because almost every drug that’s illegal today can cause a sudden death.

the money they would save from stopping the anti-drug campaigning would go towards hospitals… to save all the people that are dying from drugs. so are you saying by making drugs legal, the drug wars are going to stop? that people are going to be responsible and not steal and kill people? yeah, right…
Iceicelannnnnnnd | Feb 04, 2010

yes. with the exception of marijuana

marijuana, and everything else is 2 crazy

Yes alcohol should be illegal.

yes. there are some frightening drugs out there

In some ways yes, others no. Alcohol to me is definetly a drug and should be illegal if everything else is. I think upper drugs are more dangerous than downers because people on uppers tend to do more crazy things than people on downers. Drugs that tend to make people do things to harm other people should not be legalized. The only drug i can think of that does not make you do harmful things to others is marijuana. your only hurting yourself if you consume it.
shylah | Feb 04, 2010

1) no
2) weed, shrooms and MDMA
3) i think there are far more alcohol related deaths per year than pot related deaths…no…i know that
4) I understand that people don’t want kids to be lazy bums that do nothing but get high all day…but there are many successful business people who smoke a bowl to unwind from their stressful 6 figure jobs
5) i agree with your opinions….regulating pot would save our economy and even though smoking it may result in lung cancer possibly..so does pollution and cigarettes…they are EVERYWHERE…its the persons chioce and it is a natural plant
?s???d ???o ?? d??? | Feb 04, 2010

1) No not all drugs should stay legal. For example weed should be legalized.
2)Weed, coke, and ecstasy
3)No neither of them should be illegal. Weed makes everything better and more entertaining. smoking 20 joints in a row is safer then drinking 20 beers in a row. People do not choke on their vomit in their sleep because of weed.
4)Yes. To keep kids away from having fun.
5)They should legalize weed. But you should have to be 18 or older to buy it.
Stew-O | Feb 04, 2010

1)I think most drugs should be legal
2)Cannabis, ecstacy, cocaine, heroin

4) If they are good campaigns, which they are not.

I would make thses drugs available at chemists, cheap enough to make importation unprofitable. And I’d make it illegal to inject, but not inhale heroin.

and I’d make it entirely the users liability if the quality of the product kills them. and no obligation on the health service to treat them on drug related incidents and emergencys. You get high at your own responsibility.
Taf | Feb 04, 2010

1. NO
2. marijuana, cocaine, painkillers
3. NO
4. Some are good, others are useless
5. Do not completely agree, some drugs make you crazy and we do not need a lot of crazy people around. The tax money would be nice, the money from no anti-drug campaigns would be nice, and the money not spent on law enforcement would be nice, but you would have to open many drug rehab centers.
George | Feb 04, 2010

1) Yes, except Marijuana.
2) Marijuana, Marijuana, and Marijuana. ;}
3) Alcohol should be illegal because it’s really bad.
4) Some, Not all of them.
5) Completely agree. It is stupid to sell something that harms and kills people as a provin fact and yet weed is still illegal.

We live in a fcked up world where the good is bad and the bad is good.
Weed has never harmed nor killed ANYBODY in the world and yet it is still considered an illegal substance while many die each day by smoking ciggarettes and alcohol, and yet it is still legal.

well i do believe certain drugs have good reason to be illegal and should stay illegal. however, if i had to choose 2 other drugs to legalize, besides marijuana (of course), i would probably go with acid and shrooms. why? because neither of the two permanently alter or damage the human brain, and people RARELY EVER actually get addicted to these, not to mention that it takes a fairly small amount to get the desired affects.
and marijuana? looking at its affects on the brain and body, it think it might be one of the most misunderstood drugs around. its a hell of a lot less harmful biologically than most people think and pretty much harmless neurologically. im all for legalization on that one. people who are against its legalization should stop being so ignorant towards the actual neurological and biological affects of the drug instead of using dumb, bias-tainted arguments like "its a gateway drug". i mean if that was the case then we should all stop drinking apple juice because it’ll most likely lead to alcoholism..right? lol

As for alcohol, it would be pointless to make illegal. firstly, it has been legal for too long and since it’s something our culture accepts, it wouldnt really impact my life too much but im sure a very high percentage of people in this country simply wouldnt allow it. but from my perspective, alcohol can be a safe drug that people can enjoy and is even known to be healthy to the human body if drunk responsibly (1 or 2 drinks a day lowers LDL "bad" cholesterol and increases HDL "good" cholesterol). so in other words, it decreases risk of heart disease. its a shame that it is so widely abused.

i think anti-drug campaigns arent put out there to persuade those already using the drugs to turn their lives around as much as they are to keep those who havent used anything scared. i think they are just meant to show that society doesnt accept it and its looked down upon; and i think theyre stupid.

i completely agree with your opinion but i highly doubt anything like that will happen anytime soon. a large portion of our society does not accept drugs like weed because that is what they were taught. because they grew up being told that it is dangerous and bad or whatever not because it actually is. its almost as if their brains were fixed when they were young, before they knew the difference.

…btw, i think you meant schedule I narcotic instead of "class A drug"

Henry weds Ann and soon she gives him a child. The girl, Elizabeth, is a bitter disappointment to Henry, who desperately wants an heir. Anne promises Henry a son “next time,” but Henry is doubtful. If 'god' created humans 2b the peak of creation, why don't we have a fraction of the skills of other animals?
Wouldn’t you think that ‘he’ would have given us the best of everything?

We were his "Chosen" children… Made in ‘his’ own image… So that must mean that God is limited in what ‘he’ can perceive as well…

Why would he deny his "chosen children" better vision? Hearing? Strength?

Why, if we are "perfect" would he put the food intake in the same place as the air intake? With all the people that die of choking every year… Don’t you think that is kinda stupid?

Or the reproductive system… Why on earth would he put, to quote Anne McCaffrey, "Put the playground between the waste treatment plants?"

Look at how much damage comes to a woman when she gives birth… All the infections we get because our anus is so close to our vaginal opening.

Some animals live so much longer than humans… Combine that with the fact that the human life span has increased from about 30 to 72+ on average and damn… Why didn’t ‘god’ give us the knowledge to extend our life spans thousands of years ago? Why let his chosen children die at 30 then and die at 70?

How do you explain fossils? Did Jesus just bury them to fu(k with the non believers?

How do you explain the scientific advancement in biology? How is it that we can track the evolution of everything on earth?

How is it that we know that before humans existed, there existed a dinosaur that was the size of a chicken and fed on termites?
 http://www.livescience.com/animals/08092 3-tiny-dinosaur.html

How is it that there is evidence that 90%+ of ALL LIFE to exist on earth has gone extinct only to be replaced by newly evolved creatures to take their place?

"You can’t explain the evolution of the eye" I read in one question about evolution… Um, your repeating information that is OVER 100 YEARS OUT OF DATE.

We CAN explain the evolution of the eye… Light sensing cells on the sides of aquatic animals in the Cambrian Explosion.
 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambrian

It isn’t as if this stuff is complicated… They even have a show called "Evolve" on History Channel that spells it out so that ANYONE above the age of 5 can comprehend it…
 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolve_(TV_ series)

They use things like Evidence, Years and Years of observation, not turning to "Magic" to explain anything…

See where I’m going with this?

Why do you turn a blind eye to easy to comprehend information when there is no doubt that what is in your holy text is fiction?

How is ALL OF THE REST OF OBSERVABLE REALITY wrong yet a book full of contradictions and outright evil be the ONLY answer?

I’m not a scientist… I go to http://www.livescience.com once a day and watch History Channel…

I was raised a Christian… I have read the Bible….

How can you still insist that all of science is wrong and everything was made with magic?

Can you explain the "Big Bang Theory" in respects something that was not there then suddenly was there. Something had to be there for something to happen. Scientist of evolution say that this happened 13.7 billion+ year ago. How is that possible if nothing existed before this happened. Energy and matter had to exist before heat was used to created this immeasurable amount of heat. Physics demands it and cannot be denied. Something or someone had to be there for that to exist.

why don’t we have a fraction of the skills of other animals?

I assume of course when you talk about the skills of other animals you are referring to those amazing nuclear submarines made by dolphins, the deep space telescope that was recently launched by the chimpanzees, the anti-viral medications that were developed by the earthworms, and the wonderful body of poetry and literature that has been given to us by the bovine-american community.

Humans have brains, and an immortal soul…which is a lot more than any animal has.

BTW Anne McCaffrey is not exactly Thomas Aquinas, and Crystal Singer and the Dragonriders of Pern aren’t exactly of the same intelectual metal as Summa Theologica.
