How can I add a twist to this movie plot?
I’m in the process of making a movie but I’m getting a lot of critisizm for my movie plot. What are some events or ways I can spice it up a bit?

Key background information: Casus Belli is an assassins guild that is following a biblical prophecy from The Templars. The Syndicate is a guild that is against Casus Belli (Made up of several "ex-Casus Belli" members) that found out that Casus Belli has done away the code and is killing to control the world they live in. [Similar to the plot of "Wanted"]

Intro starts out with a killer from Casus Belli conducting a hit on a target, just to show what Casus Belli does. The original killer from the intro joins the syndicate with the goal to
kill their leader. The problem is the leader doesn’t show up to recruits so he needs to work against Casus Belli to rise up through the ranks to get to the leader.

However, while doing so, he’s faced with decisions to act against Casus Belli (ie. killing one of their members) which he eventually does. In doing so, he finds out "the other side of the story" and eventually flips sides due to a battle with himself.

What was once a hired hitman against the syndicate is now their star pupil. Realizing his mistakes in Casus Belli, he works his way up to the top where he establishes a friendship with the leader of the syndicate. Together, and the rest of the syndicate they take down and invade Casus Belli’s HQ in one huge battle sequence. During this, he is killed. As he lays dying on the floor he reveals the his overall plan to his new friend — the syndicate leader. The movie ends with the vanquishing of Casus Belli and the death of the main character.
