Dog Lover Is Mauled To Death By His Pets?
Latest on Sky News, what’s your thoughts?

Damien Pearse, Sky News Online
A doctor who won a four-year legal battle to save his three dogs from being put down for attacking humans has been mauled to death by the animals.
The victim was savaged by his three dogs while out in his garden
The 52-year-old victim was attacked in his garden in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and died before police arrived.
Officers shot one of the bullmastiffs dead and the other two were put down.
It has emerged that the pets had seriously injured a passer-by outside the owner’s house four years ago.
They spent years in "custody" pending legal hearings, but when one of them attacked a dog handler, authorities ordered them to be put down.
A bullmastiff dog
But at the eleventh hour, in June last year, the doctor succeeded in overturning the order and got his dogs back, sparking national controversy.
But now police have revealed that the dogs have turned on the owner and killed him.
"Three dogs bit their 52-year-old owner to death in Ljubljana yesterday," police spokeswoman Maja Adlesic said.
News of the owner’s death prompted an opposition party call for the resignation of the agriculture minister for failing to stop the dogs being released.
Police gave no more details and have so far refused to identify the victim, in line with country’s privacy laws.
Well this is what happens when people fail to properly train and socialize their animals. Its just one of the millions of cases that happen every day. Dogs are animals and are unpredictable, and without proper training ect.
They can be even more unpredictable and dangerous. Bull mastiffs are a very powerful breed. I doubt the owner could handle them. He was probably overwhelmed. He had 3…. and it seems to me he was an
Inexperienced or first time owner. " This is truly Ironic."

Tragic, but what is your question.

Poetic justice!!!!
It is so rare for me to read something on YA that actually brings a smile to my face as this one did.
I do love the sick irony.

Looks like the owner learned his lesson the hard way & will never know it.
Another case of pure ignorance.

I can’t believe how many people in the UK that are mauled to death by their dogs there.I just google "man mauled in the UK by his own dogs" and I’m getting page after page of this happening.I have to wonder what is going on there???
add…BYB yes I see I found the article

But again still a lot in the UK but why I can see this happening is that they also had these dogs confined for 4 yrs..These dogs did’nt know this owner anymore and were probably taunted even more in lockup.Another reason these dogs never should of been released..A sad state of affairs when you consider the whole story but again one that did’nt have to happen…

I blame this on the people who raised these dogs, they where proberbly used as fighting dogs, This is not right and dogs dont want to be aggressive they want to have a balanced life, with good excersise and a pack leader!!!!
If people where more respectful of these animals things like this wouldnt happen and I feel sorry for those dogs who havent had a decent life, at least there in a better place now!!!!
And It is good that that man gave those dogs a second chance when no one else would but it is terribly sad!!!!!!

this isnt a question its more of a statement
untrained unsocilized dogs of any breed can be dangerous
you cant blame this behavour on 1 certain certain breed
1 bullmastiff in the wrong hands can be lethal 3 is suicidal they were a pack of untrained not handled properly a time bomb that this man created and then paid the price
a trained dog is a happy dog

What a ridiculous shame. Some dogs are just NOT curable.

I blame the government on this one. they should have put the dogs down the first time they attacked a person.
and now, they are trying to pass BSL. this is part of the law they are trying to pass.
"The suggested law will create a category of dangerous dogs who present a bigger risk for the public safety and health than other dogs. Dangerous dogs are the ones who are genetically predisposed for human agression, the breeds which were bred to attack people, have higher tollerance for pain, big square shaped head and strong jaw muscles:
